Join Peter in season two as he climbs back aboard his beautiful boat Mia Zoi, and heads to a region of Greece he's not spent much time in before. The plan is to skip from island to island, taking in the sites of the Northern Aegean and Western Cycladic.
S2 E1: Thossos
First stop – Thassos. It’s the northernmost of the major Greek Islands, with the mainland only about 7 kilometres away.
S2 E2: Mt Athos/ Samothrace
This episode sees Peter finishing up his time on Thassos, before heading to the Holiest place in Greece, Mount Athos, where 20 monasteries sit on a 300 square kilometer peninsula.
S2 E3: Samothrace/ Limnos
This episode continues Peter’s time in Samothrace. It’s an island frequented by adventure and nature lovers alike.
S2 E4: Limnos (Side Trip To Agios)
In this episode Peter will be exploring 7,000 years of history. From one of the earliest settlements in Europe, to a modern day air force base. Plus he’ll learn about the local cuisine, and landscapes of Limnos, that make it so special.
S2 E5: Lesbos
In this episode Mia Zoi heads south-east, across to the island of Lesvos. Sitting just off the coast of Turkey, there are obvious influences from its neighbour. But like any Greek island, it has a truly unique personality, which Peter discovers during his time there.
S2 E6: Lesbos/ Psara/ Chios
Peter Makes his way to the capital of Lesvos, Mitlini. It’s quite the contrast to the rest of the island, with loads of people and the noise and excitement that come with it. From there he’s headed south to the island of Psara, then to Chios, the birthplace of Homer.
S2 E7: Chios/ Innousses
Peter’s exploration continues as he goes both above and below water to show you the sites, sounds and tastes of Chios.
S2 E8: Syros
Having travelled through the Northern Aegean, Peter heads into the second leg of the journey, moving down to the Western Cyclades. It’s a region of the Mediterranean that doesn’t often have a light shined on it, which is all the more reason he was keen to check it out.
S2 E9: Kythnos
In this Episode, we’re heading west to Kythnos. It’s only 100 kilometers from Athens, which makes it a popular destination for mainland Greeks.
S2 E10: Serifos
In this episode we’ll be taking you on a journey across Serifos, and experiencing everything this little island has to offer.
S2 E11: Sifnos
In episode 11, apart from getting a cooking lesson from a master, we’ll be walking from one side of Sifnos to the other. Peter is going to see and do as much as he can on this slice of Greek paradise.
S2 E12: Milos
In the final episode of series two, Peter is finishing his time in the Western Cyclades by exploring the islands of Kimolos and Milos. Despite their close proximity to one another, they’re in stark contrast.
S3 E1: Astyplaia & Pserimos
First stop in series three is Astypalia, which is a couple of hours cruising to the west of Kos. It’s where the Cyclades meets the Dodecanese. It’s the western-most island of the group and is shaped like a butterfly, and beautiful like one too!
S3 E2: Kalymnos
The island of Kalymnos is one of the biggest islands in the Dodecanese, famed for its rock climbing. In this episode we delve into the culture of it and the incredible story of the sponge divers that put Kalymnos on the map.
S3 E3: Telendos
Peter goes diving and hiking on the tiny island of Telendos. Later, he goes to Leros and explores its windmills, whitewashed houses and stunning port.
S3 E4: Lipsi
Lipsi is a quaint island in the Dodecanese and is home to around 750 full time residents. Ideally situated between Patmos and Leros, it has managed to escape the grips of Greece's island tourism epidemic and remains relatively unspoiled.
S3 E5: Patmos
Exploring the island of Patmos, an important place in Christianity.
S3 E6: Fournoi
Taking in the sights of Fournoi from the sea floor to the mountaintops.
S3 E7: Ikaria
Meeting locals in Ikaria to try to learn why they are so long-lived.
S3 E8: Samos
Peter returns to Samos, a place that holds special memories for him and Helen.
S4 E1: Kos
In the first episode, Peter is arriving on the island of Kos. It’s the third largest island in the Dodecanese, and the second most populous.
S4 E2: Nisyros
In this episode, Peter makes his way across to Nisyros. Despite being known for it’s volcanic heart and quaint towns, it doesn’t have the infrastructure and resorts that draw in the masses.
S4 E3: Tilos
Pete is heading to the tiny island of Tilos. It’s one of those ‘off the beaten path’ destinations, that remains relatively untouched by mass tourism.
S4 E4: Symi
Peter is making his way to the picture perfect island of Symi, which unlike Tilos, gets its fair share of holidaymakers. Later he visits one of the smaller nearby islands, Alimia, abandoned for just on 50 years.
S4 E5: Chalki/Karpathos
It’s another one of those beautiful islands that most folks have never heard of. It’s a place of contrasts. From Chalki Peter Then is heading to Karpathos, where he will be experiencing it’s unique culture, in more ways than one.
S4 E6: Karpathos/Kasos
In this episode Peter starts his time on Karpathos, before heading south to another island he's never visited – Kasos.
S4 E7: Rhodes
In this episode Peter's arrived on the Island of the Knights, Rhodes. It’s a place that constantly amazes, with grand architecture, dramatic history and even more spectacular landscapes.
S4 E8: Kastellorizo/Turkey/Ro
In the final episode of the series, Peter is leaving the largest island in the group, Rhodes, and heading east to one of the smallest, Kastellorizo. It’s in the farthest corner of Greece, sitting just off the coast of Turkey.
S5 E1: Crete
Crete is a massive and varied expanse, with forested mountains, open plains, countless beaches, gorges, lakes and rivers.
S5 E2: West Coast
Peter will be making his way to a couple of spectacular nearby islands, that surprisingly, few people visit.
S5 E3: Matala To East Coast
In this episode Peter continues his time in Crete. Showing you the caves of Matala, made famous by the hippies of the 60’s. He’ll also be heading to some of Crete’s famous seaside cliffs in search of the bearded vulture.
S5 E4: East Coast
In this episode Peter will be spending a couple days exploring Agios Nicholaos and the region around it. He’ll be meeting with famed author Victoria Hislop and visiting the island of Spinalonga.
S5 E5: Heraklion
In this episode Peter is heading to Heraklion, where he’ll be exploring the urban expanse and checking out the major landmarks that every tourist should see.
S5 E6: Rethymno
In this episode Peter is exploring one of Crete’s prettiest cities, Rethymno. From its Venetian fortifications and mix of architecture, to the awesome food and countless artisans practicing their craft in the beautiful medieval town.
S5 E7: Santorini
In this episode Peter is headed to what’s possibly the most well-known island in the Mediterranean, Santorini.
S5 E8: Thirasia
Peter will be exploring more of the fascinating geology, and Kyriako is going to cook up an awesome snack using aubergines.
S5 E9: Therassis/ Anafi
In this episode Peter is heading east to the island of Anafi. Being in the far south-eastern corner of Greece, it’s a place that few tourists get to.
S5 E10: Amorgos / Levitha / Donousa
This episode of My Greek Odyssey will see Peter visiting three islands, each with their own unique stories.
S5 E11: Amorogs/ Los
This episode sees Peter returning to Amorgos. He’s going to be visiting some of the best local eateries, spending plenty of time checking out the beaches, as well as digging a little deeper into the island’s history.
S5 E12: Los/ Sikinos
This episode sees Peter going from the sea to the summit, as he visits ancient ruins from as far back as the bronze age, as well as visiting a traditional, family owned cheesery, that’s been in operation for several generations.
S5 E13: Sikinos / Folegandros
The last stop is a visit to one of the most remarkable monasteries in the Aegean, before upping anchor and heading west to Folegandros.
